Mathematics as a Field of Inquiry: Strategies and Tools for Meaning Making
In the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) “8 Standards for Mathematical Practice” there is an emphasis on students analyzing and grappling with meaning-making, modeling, and data collection. We will use a Deeper Learning framework to look at ways to align our mathematics instruction more fully with the eight standards. Participants will walk out with concrete designs to implement in the classroom.
