Wonder and Discovery: Teachers on an Inquiry Journey Workshop (Preschool and Elementary)
“Wonder and Discovery” refers to the impact of inquiry as a learning approach for students and teachers. This series of six, full-day workshops are intended to inspire new ways of thinking about preschool and elementary student learning and teacher professional learning. Inspired by the progressive work with young learners that emerged after World War II in Reggio Emilia, Italy, that seized the attention of educational experts including Piaget, Bruner, and Harvard’s Project Zero and Research Schools International, the inquiry approach has been successfully implemented in hundreds of schools across the nation and around the world. This six-part series of full-day workshops includes a visit to Mid-Pacific’s preschool and elementary, and online meetings to support the development of an inquiry project in your classroom. Throughout the series and in a community of professionals, participants will create an inquiry project, receive feedback from colleagues, and problem solve together.
